only 2" here...but they managed to plow our car under (snow up to the windows) so hubby had to dig out....roads and such were ok, no ice here. really want to get out of this stupid condo

We got lucky on this snow storm, but there is a new one coming in Monday evening into Tuesday. This next one scares me a little bit, predicting 10" with 35 to 40 mph winds. The last time we had that kind of snow and wind combined, it took the National Guard 3 days to reach us.

well....I sit here listening to my hubby snore in the other room and there is a LOUD party going on next door....its early in the am and I would really like to get some sleep---perhaps I should check in to a hotel!

Hotel or invest in some heavy duty ear plugs. Or get a shotgun. That will stop that party right quick.

I'm not too concerned about the storm on Tuesday yet. Will have to see what weather says as we get closer. I'm sure the kid will all be screaming about how we will have a snow day on Tuesday or Wednesday.

ear plugs dont work on snoring or the bass (since it goes thru the walls too)....a shotgun may be an answer----

yeah looks like more snow for this week....until it falls I wont say how much we are going to get (the weather guys are ALWAYS wrong)...I always like when the tv weather says: 'chance of snow 70%, 1 to 3" expected.' if the chance is only 70%, how exactly are we going to get ANY inches if it doesnt snow????

The weather channel was calling for like 6-12" here. Then it was a measly 2". So I never trust them. Ever. I'll do my own research to get answers.

Ya we are getting smack by it now. Supposed to get heavy here in a bit. So I have to get moving so I can beat it to work.

EDIT: SON OF A PEARL LOVING MONKEY POO THROWER! I get ALL THE WAY INTO WORK, 20 minutes of driving in near white out conditions when the commute generally takes 10 minutes, only to find out that we have decided to CANCEL FOR THE DAY! Gee thanks! Couldn't have cancelled BEFORE I LEFT! ><><>< My moms school pulled the same shenanigans I guess. She was at work as well... Stupid...

sorry to hear that pwnd....they did that to me once in japan, no... twice. First time we got all the way there, started classes and THEN in the MIDDLE of a typhoon (hurricane for you americans) they sent the kids home, when I had left for work it was nice an' sunny, by 10am it was rain moving sideways (they send the kids home in it), as teachers we had to stay...by 4pm (when I leave), it was nice and sunny again. Second time...I get all the way to work--yeah, rain wind, etc...and they call school off--send the kids home (call them to tell them NOT to come, etc)....but, yes, as teachers, we had to sit on our buttts the whole day, had a really nice catered lunch that day though-----

yeah, gotta hand it to the powers that be, you could call it off BEFORE we get there.

(funny the only snow day we had in college was due to the teachers being unable to get to school, most of the students did and had walked the campus to get to classes only to find notes saying classes cancelled!)

We were told to turn around and go home. So ya, at least I didn't have to sit in at school all day. I can at least enjoy the day here by watching TV and playing games and such. School, not so much.

The storm is supposed to reach us overnight, it may start as snow but will change to heavy rain (about 1 to 2") and end sometime on Thursday. It's a good thing it will be rain as that could have been 20+ inches of snow. I hope Perkunas is okay as we haven't
heard anything since Tuesday.

2 major snow storms for a whopping 20", with 2 or 3 more expected as the last of the storm passes. Will tie or break a total for Feb set in 1960. I haven't seen this much snow in such a short time since living in the mountains of New Mexico.

Glad we bought the wife a 4 wheel drive with our income tax.

wow...that is a bit of snow. Dont know about that storm in '60, but I remember one in '79 that was pretty dang bad (as well as being told about the one in '69?<-was border="0" alt="" title="Wink" class="inlineimg" />

think we are going to get the reg. 2"...but not complaining (already have the all wheel drive car out so ready for it).

Geez. We got maybe 2-3 inches today. Would have been more but a lot of it turned out to be rain. Though we are supposed to get more snow tomorrow and then also some more Friday and Saturday. So much for an early spring... Oh, and no 4WD or AWD here. Just good old front wheel on my 1994 Camry.

The storm from '79 I remember was New Year's Eve into New Year's Day. I strung a 50ft roll of firecrackers along the top of a barbed wire fence and set them off in a blizzard. A friend of ours coming back to KC that night was snowed in at the airport for 2 days. I was one of a handful that got to work on the 2nd, living about 100 yards from work.

Now, to go shovel out the mound that the county left at the end of the driveway, before the wife gets home.

and I dont remember when the '79 one was, since I was in grade school at the time...but I remember getting the day off (and it was different from the one that hit buffalo)....

sorry to hear that the idiots left piles at the end of the driveway...you are lucky they do your street--I live on a cul-de-sac which sometimes gets forgotten; which is the reason for the all wheel car.

We got a few inches yesterday. Snowed all day today but no real accumulation which was good. Meant I didn't have to clean my car off before coming home.

yeah it was lightly snowing here, but when it hit the ground it disappeared...so no accumulation here to speak of either.

been collecting more stuffed toys...found these cute plants plushies ...then found out they are from the 'plants vs zombies' game....for a slight moment...I actually thought of getting a phone JUST so I could play...then my brain woke up and realized I really still have no need of a cell phone /phew!

The "street" I live on is a gravel road, 2 miles from a paved highway. The order that the county does snow removal is numbered highways first, lettered highways second, north/south gravel roads, then the east/west. We live on an east/west, 2 miles west of Route A and 3 miles east of Highway 31. If we are lucky, we get 2 passes by a road grader, 1 in each direction.

A neighbor brought his "BobCat" down when he saw me out there with a shovel. In 10 minutes time, our 300 ft driveway was cleared of the deep stuff.

The wife will have no problems getting in now.
